Market Bot ("the Bot", "we", "us") is a Discord bot that facilitates marketplace transactions between sellers and buyers in Discord servers. This privacy policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

1. Data We Collect

User Data

• Discord User ID - Your unique Discord identifier (required for bot functionality)
• Discord Username - Your Discord display name (for showing in orders and threads)
• Discord Avatar URL - Your profile picture (for display purposes)
• Guild Membership - Which servers you're in (to verify roles and permissions)

Transaction Data

• Order History - Records of orders you've created or fulfilled
• Order Timestamps - When orders were created and completed
• Order Thread IDs - Discord thread IDs for order communication
• Seller Ratings - Ratings you've given or received (1-5 stars)
• Queue Positions - Your position in buyer/seller queues
• Availability Status - Whether you're marked as available or unavailable (sellers only)

Server Configuration (Admins Only)

• Guild ID - Server identifier
• Product Configurations - Product names, prices, descriptions
• Channel IDs - Marketplace and report channel IDs
• Role IDs - Seller role IDs
• Message IDs - Marketplace message IDs

2. How We Use Your Data

We use your data ONLY for the following purposes:

• Matching buyers and sellers - To connect users for transactions
• Creating order threads - To facilitate private communication
• Queue management - To track and process buyer/seller queues (FIFO)
• Seller performance tracking - To calculate ratings and statistics
• Bot functionality - To operate marketplace features
• Analytics - Aggregate, anonymized data to improve the bot (no personal data)

We DO NOT:

• Sell your data to third parties
• Share your data with advertisers
• Use your data for marketing purposes
• Track you across other platforms or websites

3. Data Storage

• Database: MongoDB (hosted on Railway)
• Location: US-East data center
• Encryption: Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest
• Security: Access is restricted to bot operators only
• Backups: Regular backups are performed for disaster recovery

4. Data Retention

• Active Orders: Stored until order is completed
• Completed Orders: Stored for 90 days after completion, then deleted
• Seller Ratings: Stored indefinitely (aggregated statistics only after 1 year)
• Queue Data: Deleted immediately after you leave queue or are matched
• Guild Configurations: Stored while bot is in server, deleted when bot is removed
• Inactive Data: Data from users inactive for 2+ years is automatically deleted

5. Data Sharing

We share your data ONLY in these circumstances:

• With Discord: Through Discord's API (required for bot operation)
• With Server Admins: Server admins can see order history and seller ratings in their server
• Legal Requirements: If required by law, court order, or to prevent harm
• Service Providers: MongoDB hosting provider (bound by privacy agreements)

We NEVER:

• Sell your data
• Share with advertisers
• Provide to third-party bots or services
• Make your data publicly searchable

7. Children's Privacy

Market Bot is not intended for users under 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If we discover we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it immediately.

Discord's Terms of Service require users to be at least 13 years old (or the digital age of consent in their country).

8. International Users

If you are accessing Market Bot from outside the United States, please be aware that your data may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States where our servers are located.

10. Data Breaches

In the unlikely event of a data breach:

• We will notify affected users within 72 hours
• We will report to relevant authorities as required by law
• We will take immediate action to secure systems
• We will provide information on what data was affected

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be:

• Posted on this page with new "Last Updated" date
• Announced in our support server
• Effective 30 days after posting (unless urgent security update)

Continued use of Market Bot after changes means you accept the updated policy.
